Supplies:
Using 4 DPN (double pointed needles) Size US 5 or 3.75mm
Used a sports weight yarn
Crochet hook (any small size will do as the ball is about the size of a golf/ping pong ball)
Start by casting on 2 sts per needle on all 3 needles (total of 6 sts) place a marker
Row1 knit around
Row2 increase each stitch per needle giving you 4 sts per needle (total of 12 sts)
Row3 knit around
Row4 knit around
Row5 k1,increase,k1,increase 6 sts per needle (total of 18 sts)
Row6 knit around
Row7 knit around
Row8 knit around
Row9 knit around
Row10 knit around
Row11 knit around
Row10 k1,decrease,k1,decrease 4 sts per needle ( total of 12 sts)
Row11 knit around
Tie a ribbon through the whole in the top of the ball, then Insert the bell and stuff if you have enough room. The 1" bells I use are those you found at the craft store around Christmas time and fit inside the ball without stuffing, however if you put in a smaller bell you will have enough room for stuffing(polyfill/roving).
Row 12 decrease, decrease, 2 sts per needle (total of 6 needles)
Row 13 knit around
Pull end of thread through all sts and close off and tie around ribbon.
My cat loves to have a tail to grab to carry around the bell through the home.
